I got a reply through my MP from David Gauke who has mistrial responsibility for the policy area.I googled him and found his speech on the 2nd reading of the finance bill.

I am compiling a reply to his latter and would happily work with others on it if anyone would car to get involved.

In the meantime have a look at what he said on the topic of Restricting Finance Cost Relief [“RFCR”]. go to13:38:19 in the video

    Thank you Ros.

can I get sight of what others have said in their submissions to the Public Bills Committee. I am about to send one and want to have a common theme and amplify the good points not add confusion.

    Hi Mark.
I’m not circulating the submissions at all yet, as we need to know they have gone public on the House of Commons site and I haven’t checked yet. You could, in the meantime, forward your submission to Mark and he could forward it to me and I could then let you know if there is any duplication or overlap – not that I think that that would be a problem. Or Mark could check as he’s also read all the submissions.
    All the best.

How do we get this more exposure.

Rents will have to rise as I said in the first few pages of this thread – nothing has or will change that, & as you say Trendo – economics 101…. cost go up then selling price has to go up

Can we collect together and gets adverts in the papers and should we not be using Corby’s pledge to make housing affordable as a stick?

Thanks Ros… but i don’t understand the secrecy? Does sharing them mean they are published elsewhere and so cant be used at the committee?

I think we need to do collective bargaining here NSD Make more noise as a group and everyone doing their own thing is not impactful especially if the spread of issues is wide..

    Hi Mark.
As I said, I’d prefer you to give me your submission rather than I give you mine, but obviously you don’t have to and can send it in as it is.
Also, I don’t know what ‘NSD’ is or what ‘the spread of issues is wide’ means.

    Hi Ros not to worry…

NSD is a typo and should have been “and” Don’t know how that happened…

I’ll get on with sending my submission to the Public Bills Committee separately. Thanks you for your help and lets hope that the submissions make a difference.

Unless, someone has already mentioned “Corbyn” has won and has replaced Miliband.

May God help our business, if he comes in Power in 2020 then he will take away remaining 20% relief as well as rest!

He has apparently suggested that, private tenants should have right to buy at hugely discounted price from Landlords.

He thinks PRS is a charity!

I imagine in 2020 when rents have skyrocketed and new home starts have ground to a halt because there are no landlords in the market to buy, they may well be forced to back track. Either that or they make it worst by introducing rent controls thinking that it will somehow resolve the issue.

We’ve now seen examples in Australia and Ireland of restricting legitimate business expenses that have resulted in increased rents, and also in New York and Paris where rent controls have reduced the quality of rental stock. You would think the government would do a bit of research before implementing ridiculous policies.
