I have just email Glenn Armstrong, Property Investors Network and Manchester Property Networking to send an email out to their client databases a link to the petition plus encourage people to contact their MP’s. Between them they must have thousands of contacts.
I’ll let you know how it goes.

Interestingly I had a lengthy email conversation with a Conservative MP over the last few days. He agrees with the policy, however, he also agrees that landlords do in fact run businesses. Therefore his views are conflicted. I have asked him regardless of his view point if he could speak to some of the decision makers and at least inform them about some of the unintended consequences of the policy. Awaiting a response.

Excellent article, and if people search Google for “Landlord Tax Levy Campaign Group” the first thing they find is this link >>> https://www.property118.com/landlord-tax-levy-campaign-group-budget-2015/77087/
A Google search to “saynotogeorge” is also very effective.

Hi Trendo
It’s a pity he didn’t encourage agents to inform their clients though.
It’s a also a pity he didn’t provide a link to Property118’s Landlord Tax Levy Campaign Group this time, like he did two days ago:
https://www.lettingagenttoday.co.uk/breaking-news/2015/8/landlord-tax-levy-campaign-group-launches
In that he pointed out that the letter to send to local authority chief executives still shows the petition has 5,500 signatures although it now has more than double that number.
Mark, could that page be updated now to “over 12,000” and then updated every time the figure goes up by a thousand?

Text updated as follows ….
“The petition achieved its initial target of 10,000 signatures within just a few days, this guarantees a response from Government. The next target is to achieve 100,000 to pressurise a debate in Parliament.”

Mark,
When you do go to the treasury meeting they are obviously going to have to come up with alternative proposals to save face. Why not suggest to restrict the buy to let market there should be a maximum of say 5 or 10 buy to let mortgages across all institutions for any one person. This at least allows them to say that they are controlling the expansion of the industry.
