A question about insurance?
Hello. Is it usual for insurance for an empty property (which is up for sale) to only provide cover for subsidence? No cover for malicious damage or escape of water.
I’ve been quoted over £600 for one tenanted and one empty property.
Seems a bit excessive?
Thanks for any advice.
Ann

Hi Ann,
Empty properties often exclude burst pipes, theft and malicious damage.
Cover will continue for fire, explosion. storm, impact, flood etc however there is usually a condition for regular inspections that are documented.
Never will cover be restricted to subs only

Ask an industry leading provider like Total Landlord Insurance or such like.
