Constant RRA Information Sheet update emails?

Renters’ Rights Act information sheet update notifications displayed across desktop and mobile devices

Hello, I am constantly receiving updates on changes to the Renters’ Rights Act via email. I am not sure what the exact changes are.

Do I need to give a copy of the whole new thing to my tenant (if so, that’s going to be a massive amount of paper as I have about 15 change emails so far) or try to locate the page with the change on, or can I forward him the email?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Anita

Editor’s note: No, landlords do not need to resend the Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet every time GOV.UK sends an update email. If you have already given the tenant the official Information Sheet, either as a printed copy or as a PDF attachment, you have met that requirement. The update emails may refer to changes to the surrounding guidance page, formatting or added explanatory notes. That does not mean landlords must keep re-serving the document unless the Government specifically says the Information Sheet itself has changed and must be reissued. The safest approach is to keep evidence of when the Information Sheet was sent, what version was sent and how it was served.

they don’t even use basic version control on any of the documentation they produce. Incompetence now seems a job standard/requirement …

I seem to remember saying well before this incompetent government published the RRA Information pdf sheet that it would likely be a badly drafted as the Bill and subsequent Act.

    I’d laugh but ……………………………
