yes that is the waiting times and sometimes longer. all a result of the government closing numerous courts and enabling the housing at the council longer to accommodate tenants who are being evicted. it does not matter about the landlord loosing rents

you can ask to escalate to the high court and this is usually quicker but it will cost you more.

this is the state of the country and the housing situation no wonder landlords are leaving in droves and there is thousands of children living in temporary accommodation

I had a possession order granted around the same time back in December 2023. Being based in Ilford I was able to call the head sherif to attend earlier than the said date. The tenant is out now. Or alternatively as mentioned above call Claire sandbrook who will assist in you transferring your case to a high court Bailif seeking permission from the local county court. You pay a higher fee but your tenant will be out very quickly. That does come at price. Depends how keen you are to have your tenants evicted.

Calling this system a disgrace doesn’t do it justice. I have to say it’s all down to the Conservative government’s ineptitude.

It may be a good idea to introduce yourself and who you are just so that callers know who they are dealing with.

We have just evicted a tenant using Sec 21 who WANTED to be evicted so that he could get a council place and not have to rely on the PRS. It took 18 months. As a footnote to the council’s directive to ‘stay put until the bailiffs arrive’ he was also told that he didn’t have to allow viewings of the property despite it being a clause in his ‘legal’ AST. This is Brent Council, a Labour run council. Just saying……………

It wouldn’t just be a Labour council saying he doesn’t have to allow viewings it could have been a Conservative one as well. What’s in your AST doesn’t hold enough legal weight.
