Land Registry holding up loan?

Land Registry holding up loan?

I purchased a property six months ago and have a subsequent new loan agreed in principle.

However, I am still waiting for the Land Registry to complete the registration of the title and until the process is completed, the lender is apparently unable to place their charge on my property.

My broker has tried to fast track this but no progress made to date.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to speed up the process?

If I fail to complete the loan on time, I will potentially lose the favourable lenders rate and have to reapply for a new loan.

Thanking you in anticipation.

James

The Land Registry, forerly the most efficient government Quango, is now approaching the least efficient (The Court of Protection holds the least efficient accolade in my limited experience). Registrations are now taking anything up to eighteen months with none of my recent transactions taking less than six months. There seems to be nothing you can do to speed up the process.

Before the present government closed the local offices a transfer could be registered in person in a few tens of minutes, my personal record is ten minutes. Now I am still waiting for the registration of a transfer which occurred in August last year.

I don’t suppose the threatening presence of Jacob Rees Mogg at the offices will make a great deal of difference either !

Not helped because a high percentage of Government departments are working from home still according to the Telegraph's recent article
