Why are Housing Associtions not required to follow the same rules as the PRS?
Please take a look at this article in the Huffington Post (click here)
“A housing association has repaid tens of thousands of pounds to a Black woman whose rent was higher than her white neighbour’s – in an identical house.
“Sanctuary refunded Selma Nicholls £30,000 after the overcharge left her struggling to make ends meet and facing eviction – but has refused her request for compensation after the stress and anxiety it caused.”
It is an outrageous example of abuse by a housing association.
Even if you do not think the matter is racist it is grossly unfair and victimisation.
I’m sure if this were a private landlord, all types of bodies would be prosecuting the landlord for all manner of offences.

Did you watch Panorama last night about Shared Ownership being operated by Housing Associations – make your eyes water !
https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000pk2b/panorama-the-home-i-cant-afford
The things that so-called ‘ not for profit ‘ ( sic ) Housing Associations are ripping off the public that Govt have duped into ‘getting onto the property ladder [ by a percentage ownership ] and paying rent for the remaining 75 % WITH added Service charges that increase exponentially. £ 3 Grand a month !!!
Don’t see Shelter or Generation Rent campaigning for them !
