I’m filled with excitement, because Boris has announced new Permitted Development rules and a whole scale reform of the planning system.

    Interesting but if you have had your pd rights taken away historically, by the local planners then it doesn’t mean a thing.

    in National Parks permitted developments are not allowed.
    You have to go for planning permission. The coucillors and employees in the planning department mainly live in the park.
    So nobody gets planning permission for what would other wise be a routine permitted development. A run down and derilict building which would get permission in the rest of the country will simply not be considered. Of course this smells funny. It only occurs in the Tory shires. The worst cse of NIMBYISM. Perhaps Starmer wil take this up?
