Details of policies that directly affect the Private Rental Sector are a bit thin on the ground, but this is probably a good thing these days.
Taxation:
Exempt from Corporation Tax those 1 million companies with profit before tax of under £50,000
Zero rate Corporation Tax for the first £10,000 of pre-tax profits: one million companies – some 66% of the total number – pay less than £10,000. This represents just 6% of Corporation Tax take in 2019; £3.4bn. Total cost £5.1bn per year.
Abolish Inheritance Tax (IHT). This hated ‘grief’ tax raises less than 1% of total tax revenue. It is ‘double taxation’ on a lifetime’s assets, levied at a time of family distress.
Housing Market:
We need to simplify the planning and development processes to encourage small and medium sized developers, accelerating the pace of development to increase housing supply. We pledge to:
• Simplify planning consents for Brownfield sites.
• Change the funding model to make it easier for councils to borrow from central government to build council houses.
• Accelerate infrastructure grants funding to kick start schemes of marginal viability.
• Change the process for outline planning consent.
• Introduce more flexibility on the size and type of units as part of a development.
• Allow more flexibility in the number of affordable homes within a development scheme.

I have to say that I think the Brexit Party Contract is the most sensible one of all. Trouble is voting for them will help Corbyn get in or add to the no one party with a majority problem which is a disaster.

In some constituencies the Brexit Party may attract some erstwhile Labour voters who will never vote for a Conservative, allowing the Tory candidates to get in.

It’s a shame Farage bottled it and blinked first letting Boris get the upper hand. Farage was in a great position with nothing to lose. No Prime Minister position to risk, no MP’s to lose. Boris had absolutely everything to lose, yet stood firm causing Farage to roll over pretty quickly. Farage should have stood his ground and put up candidates in every Tory consistency. Yes it could have let Corbyn in but who’s fault would that be ? It would have taught Boris a lesson. Now the Brexit Party is only contending Labour seats, but there is a Tory candidate in there as well, so the Brexit candidate has little chance. I feel sorry for the Brexit Party “registered supporters” who’ve been shafted. Farage destroyed the BNP (our only real hope) then UKIP and now his Brexit Party. A total waste of time …….. a circus clown could have done better.
