Government Homeless £20m Scheme
The Government today launched a £20m scheme to be launched through Local authorities to alleviate the Homeless crisis. This scheme depends on and indeed needs the support of the PRS to work.

“Invitation for local authorities to apply for funding to create new private rented sector tenancy schemes for people who are, or at risk of becoming homeless.”
Politicians still do not get it! The PRS is sick to the teeth of unwarranted attacks, Sham licensing schemes and taxation in the form of sect 24.
For these reasons I urge every landlord to rebuff this advance. It is an advance by charlatans. Now is the opportunity of every landlord to stand up and say NO.
If government and councils want to work with us fine. We are ready and willing to listen an co operate. However, to use council parlance we want “a level playing field”. Stop the vilification of landlords. It is our capital, our investment and we will not be bullied any further.
Mr Brokenshire you failed as NI secretary. Listen to us. Stop the vilification or you will have another failure on your CV.

Hmm perhaps using the money they raise through the S24 tax to try to hold on to landlords who are selling up because of S24.

They are not even sure of what it is intended to achieve:
para 5: ” the £20 million fund will support 8,965 people”
para 8: ” the government’s desired outcome for the fund – to support 8,965 homeless households “

I’m inclined to agree, this is an opportunity for power of leverage, just say no and say its not viable after S24 now.
Let them look to £50 a night for temporary hotel rooms 1st, when they have felt the financial pain then they may reconsider S24 as being the cause not the saviour
