Step sons want to take possession of fathers house
My dad has just received a letter from his second wife’s sons claiming that they have the right to make him leave the home he has lived in and maintained for the last 45 years (he’s 88 now) and to make him pay back rent as well. They have sent a letter of Pre action in accordance with the Civil Procedure rules 1988 and require a response in 14 days. Does anyone know of a good solicitor/barrister that has good knowledge of this sort of thing?
There is some history to this – ie. it’s not completely out of the blue but their demands (incl for a man of 88 to respond in 14 days) seem completely unreasonable. I understand the law doesn’t necessarily see it this way. Any help or suggestions are most welcome and appreciated.
Thanks
Jamie
