Wow! They must have been bad?
Finally, an industry body actually doing its job.
Richard Davidoff’s ABC Estates booted out.
“Residential management firm ABC Block Management has been expelled from industry body the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) after a formal complaint by leaseholders and a property tribunal ruling.”

If you have evidence that HML have behaved unprofessionally, then you should send that evidence to ARMA and lodge a complaint. Otherwise, nothing will happen.

The Association of Residential Managing Agents, the First Tier Tribunal, the Institute of Residential Property Management, the Property Redress Scheme and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors have various powers to sanction errant managing agents. Some might argue that they issue these sanctions too sparingly.
The crux of the matter is that none of these entities have the power to stop a managing agent trading.
We therefore have an absurd situation where managing agents such as Richard Davidoff and ABC Block Management Limited can continue trading even if their practices have been deemed by a court to be abusive and unacceptable.
If a managing agent’s practices have been deemed by a court to be abusive and unacceptable (as in this case) we need an entity with the power to stop the managing agent trading. This can only be achieved by an independent regulator.

Hear Hear Gulliver. That’s why I have been calling for Michael Gove, in his capacity as Housing Minister, to move forward with the long-awaited Regulation of Property Agents, which has been gathering dust for too many months/years.

I see (well hear, really) that an outfit going by the name of ABC is currently advertising its block management services very heavily on LBC.
Apparently, when it comes to service charge collection they “never give up”.
(Just an FYI.)
