I started property investing 5 years ago and despite making some mistakes along the way (and learning from them) I did quite well. My activities were part-time as I have a busy main career and a Daughter who is unwell. I often lacked time (or energy) to address shortcomings which I knew were costing me hundreds of pounds a month. No doubt this meant the project didn't flourish as much as it could have done. I eventually came to the realisation that I needed to rely upon the (paid) expertise of others and that this outlay would pay for itself. Unfortunately the numerous experts I engaged to date have all proved to be disappointing after I started dealing with them and then Section 24 happened (along with 2nd home SDLT and borrowing restrictions). The pattern of disappointing experts eventually broke when I engaged Mark Alexander. It was obvious from the articles on this website that he had the right balance of the skills I needed to adopt a plan to mitigate the effects of Section 24. Through my own research (a lot of it based upon the content on this website) I thought I had come up with a good plan. Nevertheless I decided to engage Mark's consultancy service for a 2nd opinion. Having checked the numbers he confirmed that part of my strategy was sound thereby instilling me with the confidence I was looking or. The other part of my strategy whilst also sound he managed to improve upon. He also put me in touch with recommended experts whom I could approach to progress the strategy. He was amiable, professional, responsive and spoke with fervour that was infectious! The consultation cost me £400 inc VAT but in actuality I am paying £240 as of course his consultation is a tax-deductible expense. That was money well spent.

I have had a consultation with Mark recently and after two years of anxiety, worrying about the viability of a substantial 20 year old business, I am completely relieved after receiving his guidance. My telephone conversations with Mark were extremely beneficial and an eye opener. It is very rare to find someone with real life life experience of making business gains from investments in property and also the ability to communicate strategies succinctly.
My whole perception about investing in property has changed as a result of just one hour with Mark. It's made me realise that it's not just about being a portfolio landlord with multiple properties and treating tenants well but also about having a business perspective on every investment and knowing what deals to buy and sell, having a formula for speculation and a strategy for holding on to properties for long term investment and income.
