Hi everyone, I am looking into short-term rentals and wondering if there is a way to handle/manage direct booking short-term rentals other than using Airbnb etc.?
An example would be a short-term rental for a summer worker for between 2 & 3 months?
An AST would be unsuitable and they wouldn’t pass referencing anyway as their work is temporary. Also, they have no other permanent address.
Any comments would be very welcome, as this is a common question from prospective tenants in a popular tourist area.
Many thanks
Jean

Hi Sally – the best way would be https://www.spareroom.co.uk/ – I used to rent out my spare room on here, there are varying tenancy options too and usually only a week deposit. Much cheaper than AirBnB. thanks Vicky

Hi, Yes Spareroom is great and used by lots of people looking for somewhere to stay.
Which type of contract would you chose for such a short let (in place of an AST) with a live-out HMO landlord ? Thanks, Jean
