Hi, I have a property in a Selective License area and my property was licensed. I have just been checking the paperwork and noticed that my licence expired 2 years ago.
I have been renting during this period and obviously need to get a new licence. My question is the best way to go about it without attracting any fine?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary

Reply to the comment left by Mike at 12/07/2024 – 11:41Now they are heading for bankruptcy, S114 served on them, quite simply they dug their own grave, by introducing Selective licensing and pouncing on many Landlords who used to accomodate hundreds of tenants in their garden sheds, made of bricks etc, and that provided cheap shelter, affordable for many who had low incomes, and controlling the number of tenants who can occupy any given property meant lots of larger families were forced to rent bigger homes with one or two extra bedrooms, that reflected the rent, so when they could no longer afford higher rents for bigger places they became homeless and so the Newham Council had to home them in expensive temporary accommodation, costing them millions almost a 3rd of their budget and now they are crying out, serves them well. It was a hind sight, you can’t have your cake and eat it Newham.
