The issue of costs that are the responsibility of the tenant?16:06 PM, 30th July 2019
About 3 weeks ago 50
I was informed last week that one of my tenants had passed away in my property.
There are no suspicious circumstances, although I was informed by the chap who lived in the flat above (he does my Gas Safety Checks so I knew him) that he believes she died from a diabetic coma.
She was single and had physical and mental health issues and was categorised as a vulnerable adult. She was an absolutely lovely woman and always saw the funny side of life. She was one of my faves. It’s such sad news.
My question is: What do I do now?
The neighbour has passed on my contact details to her parents in case they have any questions, but they are grieving for their daughter so I’m sure I am not their number one priority. And that’s exactly how it should be. I’m not now chomping at the bit to get her stuff out, due respect needs to be given to the fact that her parents have lost their child.
Any thoughts or insights from anyone?
