Rightmove launches digital renter checklist to simplify tenant move-ins
Rightmove has unveiled a new digital Renter Checklist tool aimed at easing the rental move-in process for tenants.
The platform says it will help renters manage each stage of securing a property, from initial search to collecting the keys.
The checklist lets tenants track progress in real time by ticking off each stage as they go.
It’s designed to bring greater clarity and reduce the stress that often comes with renting.
The tool will also support agents in managing lettings more efficiently.
Boost for letting agents
The firm’s chief technology and operations officer, Tarah Lourens, said: “Through the Lead to Keys product suite, we’ve been helping to speed up and reduce admin time for letting agents, enabling them to advertise their properties and hand over the keys to tenants through one integrated system.
“Our renter checklist is the first step in helping to speed up the process directly for tenants too, making it much easier for them to see the actions they need to complete and where they’re at in the process.”
This will, she adds, reduce ‘friction and frustration’ in what has been a ‘complex and multi-layered journey’.
Improve the tenancy process
The new offering is part of Rightmove’s wider push to streamline the rental experience.
The checklist fits within the platform’s broader ‘Lead to Keys’ suite.
That will simplify every part of the lettings journey for both sides of the transaction.
For agents using Rightmove’s tenant referencing service, tenants can view the status of their reference checks and what needs doing next.
The firm’s tenancy manager software will update the checklist automatically as tenancy application progresses.

A good idea, there’s a lot to remember when checking a Tenant in.
EPC’s Electrical Certificates, Gas Safety Certificates, Right to Rent paraphernalia etc. so much so that on occasions I have even forgotten to ask for the Rent !
