Hello, tenants were due to vacate the property this weekend. However, the tenants have told the management agency that they have been advised by the local authority to stay put as they are a couple with a young child.
Where do I stand on this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Sheila

So what by if you just want the tenant out and served the s8 notice should you pursue the legal route? Is there any point of claiming direct payment to the LL? As my ones not responding so would rather try get them out.

I’ve already served s21 and s8 from solicitors, tenants ignoring me. Is there any point getting direct payments from uc? There just playing games rather get them out as I don’t want to s8 notice to cancel.

I’m the same currently losing 25k plus as Hillingdon Council is advising the tenant to wait till the balifs have been booked ?
It’s comming upto 10 months and counting
In future tenants must have a guarantor or pass the checks to allow a rent guarantee policy that actually pays out!

I also fear they abandoned the property and left stuff which is more complex as you cannot just get rid of them.

Brave…!!
You must have a large portfolio or premises paid off to absorb the losses
Most would sell up and exit the sector
It’s really bad and courts are worse than tortoise

This is why I’ve started a crowdfund to develop a UK tenants register
