How busy is your website?

When you consider that property118.com was launched just seven weeks ago it’s quite amazing that we are already ranked as being the 9,869th busiest website in the UK.   Is top 10,000 any good though?

Chances of us outranking the likes of Google, Facebook, Yahoo etc. are obviously pretty slim so we also checked the Alexa ranking of all the big mortgage lenders in the buy to let market.  We couldn’t find one with a ranking inside the top 30,000 so we’re all feeling a bit smug and exercising our bragging rights.

WE OWE IT ALL TO YOU.  Apparently an average visitor to our site spends 16 minutes and 11 seconds here.  You also Facebook share and Tweet our articles as well as emailing or telling your mates about us whilst you’re down the pub.  For those reasons we’re becoming more and more popular so thank you.

We would also like to thank our Guest writers and our website developers who are working extremely hard behind the scenes to enhance your user experience of the site.  We are incredibly excited about the additional functionality we will be launching over the coming weeks.

So from all at Property118.com

CHEERS!

By the way, it’s free to check out how your company website ranks so why not give Alexa.com a try for yourself?  Just enter your web-site address into the search bar, press enter and you’re away.

Alexa Traffic Rank in Country (how they calculate it)
"The rank by country is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews from users from that country over the past 3 months. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked #1 in that country."

Forget that, it's just spin - it tells us nothing.

The question is, how do they get their numbers? The answer is: How many people do you know using the Alexa browser toolbar?

Exactly.

And anyway, you should be worried if an external website claims to know the metrics of your own. Google (if you're ranked) will probably know the most about your site, but even then, not (near) the whole picture.

Getting down to the granular level, not even you will ever know the "true" picture (unless you enjoy reading raw logfiles) because all stat packages will differ.
