Gas safety during the coronavirus outbreak
I thought that I would share the following link from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) providing guidance for landlords, gas engineers and the clinically vulnerable during the Coronavirus outbreak: Click here
“Landlords: You have a legal duty to repair and maintain gas pipework, flues and appliances, do annual gas safety checks and keep a record of each safety check. But you may have difficulty doing these checks during the outbreak, for example because of tenants who are self-isolating.
During the outbreak, landlords should assess the balance of the risk to the safety of the household and the public presented by the gas system with the risk to tenants’ health from coronavirus.
What landlords need to do during the coronavirus outbreak”
I hope that it helps someone out there.
Bruce.

in other words……the Landlord should do them as they would anyway, regardless, because if you don’t even if you think you have a valid reason, it wont be valid or acceptable in reality.
So no change there then.
Great. *sigh*

Why does everyone keeps referring to Gas Technicians as Engineers? I know it’s not a legally protected title in the UK – but they are technicians in every practical sense ?
