If you are worried about the Renters Rights Bill, fear not.  Landlord and tenant specialist Solicitor Tessa Shepperson will be delivering a free webinar ‘Achieving Compliance with the Renters Rights Bill’.

“Normally”, said Tessa, “these webinars are only available to my Landlord Law members.  I decided to open this webinar up to non-members as I am concerned that many landlords are unaware of the new rules being brought in by the bill and could be at risk of serious fines.”

The webinar will take place on 22 May at 10.30 and will last up to 2 hours.

Tessa, who has run Landlord Law, the information service for landlords, for over 20 years, will be explaining the changes being brought about by the bill and what landlords need to do to comply with them.

She will also be discussing how to prepare for the bill so you are not caught out when it comes into force (which is almost certainly going to be later this year).

This is the biggest change in landlord and tenant law for over 30 years and will affect all landlords, tenants and letting agents.

As Tessa said: “It looks as if the bill could be made law by the summer, so now is a good time for landlords to prepare for the new rules coming in.  It is essential that landlords know what is coming down the line so they don’t get caught out!”

Landlords should also be aware (as pointed out by Des Taylor in this Property118 post) that Local Authorities’ enforcement powers will be considerably increased under the bill.

The penalty fines Local Authorities can impose for non-compliance are also due to be increased to up to £7,000 (or in some cases £40,000).  So it is essential that landlords are ready for the changes.

The best way to avoid these fines is 100% compliance with the rules, which should give you 100% protection.  This webinar will help.
