Is that not the SDLT tax not section 24 hence why they are saying investors are piling in to complete to avoid the SDLT for second homes ?

NL is correct. The “piling in to complete” is an embedded reference to another article written in January in relation to SDLT. (thttps://www.ft.com/content/34eb06c4-bf87-11e5-9fdb-87b8d15baec2)

I don’t think that’s the case. The article is dated within last few days and they are not about talking about historic episode but they seem to be making reference to future April 2017.

George Osborne failed his A level Maths and he was a bit of pr**k in class flicking rubber band on others whilst sitting in exam room.

I suspect his answer to Q3 to in the exam paper in yr link gives a clue to his actual thought process when he (or his rich LL mates) conjured up C24, despite the spin that the hate brigade have so eagerly lapped up?

Fingers crossed our chancellor reads this and takes note before this goes too far!
I have put two properties on the market that were let to the dss for the last 10 years – I will sell them all as the dss tenants leave!
Several other landlords I know are doing the same and not one I know would touch DSS with a barge pole.
Those in power are daft!

Unfortunately it seems that the idiots who run the Treasury do not see anything apart from a prospect of fuller coffers.
I really hope I am wrong here.
