I agree it seems sluggish at the minute and we are way off maybe people who have incorporated have backed off as it was an expensive process to do ??

Remember folks, we all need to push this to as many agents as possible even if they’re not on our patch.

Also, the NLA and RLA will be publishing the link in forthcoming magazines – Id expect it to accelerate once these are published.

Keep up the good work everyone. We cannot afford to lose this.

    I see it’s picked up a bit!

I emailed the tenant tax email to my local shopkeeper yesterday (him and his family have properties) and a former agent today. I stressed to both that it would affect everyone: LLs, agents and tenants and asked them to forward to all contacts.

I think the difference this time compared to the Christmas campaign is that more and more people are becoming aware. That could also be to do with the end of the tax year and contact with accountants.

It’s looking like we may hit the target with our continued efforts!

    Hi James

Is it possible for you to request RLA and NLA to send a email link to all their members? Ithink we would get more response with email. I am not NLA member . I will request RLA. Who ever members please request

I wanted a change so I did a few mortgage brokers

please can you share with all your staff in various branches as well clients/applicants and please donate however small. We are all in the same industry. We need your support to reverse this tax on private landlords. If we don’t it may spread . Please see link.

    Hi Eden & James

If the stats are correct, they indicate that the majority of rental properties are owned by landlords who are either unencumbered or incorporated and therefore will be unaffected by C24. They may even directly benefit from it’s implementation if some of their competition is removed as a result.

So another question(s) that NLA or RLA members might like to ask there respective associations is:

What % of members (& membership fees) may be adversely affected by C24 being implemented and what % of their members may benefit?

Or to put it another way:
What % of members properties (& membership fees) have private BTL mortgages and what % of their members properties are either unencumbered or incorporated?

Bearing in mind that those with Ltd BTL mortgages will not be adversely affected by C24.

Thank you Mark. I shall ask, wherthe they tell me or not is another question. There are over 450+ people have read the post regarding C24. I will also follow it up with a phone call. Today it is the private Landlords. Tomrrow it could be the Ltd companies or/and corporations.

    Hi all,

I think the NLA will possibly email it out in their ‘Focus’ email to members – I can’t promise that but if it’s going in their magazine then as many members asking for it to be promoted the better.

It’s true 2/3rds of landlords are unencumbered, but many of those – and/or those in ltd cos – are still supportive of our cause. Target every trade association, and all landlords regardless. Hopefully the ELA and the GRL will also publicise it.

I’ll push ARLA on it too.

Just another Tory puppet peddling the Tory donors build to rent schemes buy demonising normal people as unprofessional, and they are getting these non existent perks / reliefs they make me sick. We need to fight these out of touch public school boys as hard as we can they are nothing but lying over privileged parasites
