Thanks for that BTL, I had no idea it was there.
However I have at no time claimed that I started the petition which is contrary to what the report says.

From report
The rise in homelessness and in the number of families in temporary accommodation is a real mark of shame on this government. We need to provide the security and stability of a decent home for all families and get back to reducing homelessness in the way that we did when Labour was in government.
Reducing the PRS will make this worse

This is good.
It confirms much of what I have been reading trawling the internet for anything over the weekend.
I was looking at committee reports maiden speaks and nobody here opposed the removal of the int for buy to let and if I was a HA I would not be feeling very comfortable and safe either.
They want to support the homeowners because they vote much more than renters so politically they want to keep them sweet. The problem with that is they want to build and NIMBYS dont want it.
They wish to push out the larger PRS to make room for the big boys . To get them on board they seem to be offering them lots of money and land. They are then hoping these renters will vote for them and be more open to development.
GO will have CGT and lots of tax , he also hopes the move will help get the house builders on board. He then hopes to build.
PRS and HA are not in the plan.
Yes these homes will have a good EPC but to get the returns the housebuilders want they will have to condense them . Once they have this they will be able to set the market rents.
I agree they dont give a dam about the lower paid or benefit claimants probably will build hostels for them.
But with the housebuilders the rents will increase just like the gas ,electric, council tax
