Anything else we can use so that my friend can feel more secure?

How on earth are landlords expected to carry on with no safeguards?

Hi, I own a rental property with a friend. The investment is 50/50. The property and the mortgage are in my sole name, everything goes through a joint bank account in both our names.

We have a “Deed of Trust” between ourselves, but is there anything else we can use so that my friend can feel more secure.

Is there anything that can be lodged with the Land registry etc. proving that there is a third-party interest?

Many thanks.

David

    Hi David

You and your friend could lodge an RX1 restriction at HM Land Registry, which I believe would not require the mortgage lender’s permission, but I advise that you check that with a solicitor.

    Thank you for your suggestion.
I will investigate and speak to my solicitor.
