Academic research project - looking for landlord participants

Academic research project – looking for landlord participants

The University of York and the University of Sheffield are carrying out a research project looking into the experiences of landlords as they relate to the law and housing regulations.

The project is specifically looking to understand the pressures landlords face in relation to adhering to legal and regulatory obligations. We’re interested in hearing from landlords who may have inadvertently broken the law or have broken the law as a result of the challenges of following certain rules.

We are also interested in hearing from landlords who may be victims of crime in the sense that their property may have been misused by tenants.

A key part of our project is to challenge negative stereotypes of landlords and to allow you to tell your own story about the challenges of being a landlord. We know that very often landlords are trying their best and care about their tenants but are subject to immense financial and regulatory pressures.

We hope our project can shine a light on this and give landlords a voice to tell their own stories rather than how they are portrayed in the media and some political narratives.

If you would like to take part in our project, please get in touch via email on [email protected] and we can discuss this further. Participation in this project will be kept strictly confidential.

Thanks in advance,

Dr Xavier L’Hoiry
University of Sheffield
