Tenant suffering domestic abuse – Advice please?
I would be most grateful for and advice please on how to proceed. A tenant’s ex partner (not on the ast or living at the property) has been violent and arrested.
The tenant says she is planning to move to live with her daughter in a few months, she feels she is not in immediate danger. However, the neighbours have had enough and this behaviour is dangerous as the most recent incident involved the ex partner ramming the tenant’s vehicle outside the rental property which is on a private estate – not sure if that makes a difference, the directors of the estate feel it does as it is a private, gated estate.
There have been other serious incidents at the property in the last 9 months which the police have attended and made arrests. The neighbours want the tenant out asap as they feel unsafe which I completely understand, but not sure if this extreme behaviour from the ex partner means an eviction requires the same amount of notice or if it can be expedited due to anti-social, dangerous behaviour.

If it is the ex-partner, then why is the tenant to be punished?

If the estate is private and gated, who is letting him in?.
