RLA urge landlords to complete survey and help influence policy
Now that the government has committed to a consultation following its announcement to ban section 21 notices the RLA is calling on landlords to help influence policy by completing a new survey: Click Here to access the survey.
The survey concentrates on what will be needed to assist landlords faced with repossessing properties through the courts and explain their experiences and frustrations in the current system.
David Smith, Policy Director for the Residential Landlords Association said: “The system needs to be fair to both landlords and tenants. The majority of landlords do a good job and it is vital that they have the confidence to provide the homes to rent we desperately need.
“This survey provides an important opportunity for landlords to shape the future of the sector and ensure that it works for them every bit as much as it does for tenants.”

I have recently completed this survey. It takes a little while so don’t try to do it in a rush. Also, it maybe worth refreshing yourself on section 8 grounds before starting. This is a very welcome survey, I would encourage all landlords to complete it. Especially those who have experience of the court eviction process via section 21 or 8. You don’t have to be a member of RLA. Help them to help you!

I agree also. It is a comprehensive and balanced survey. There is plenty of opportunity to express your views on S.21 and S.8 issues. I found it useful to develop my ideas in a text editor first, then transcribe them into the survey.
