Room rents in Swansea rise twelve times as fast as London

SpareRoom.co.uk have issued their UK rental index for Q2 2016. Room rents in Swansea rise twelve times as fast as London

The data reveals that rents are rising fastest in Swansea (12%), Bradford (11%), Portsmouth (11%) and Swindon (11%)

Other statistics:

  • London is amongst the towns and cities seeing the least room rental growth in the last 12  months, up just 1% along with Belfast and West Bromwich
  • The West Midlands has seen rents fall year on year, a decrease in 1% overall (down 5% in Dudley and 2% in Birmingham)
  • Aside from Guernsey, where room rents outprice London at £799, the most expensive non London rents surround the capital, with Twickenham (£625), Kingston Upon Thames (£621) and Barnet (£606) topping the list
