Plans for basement with separate dwelling stalled?
I own two mortgage leasehold titles in a house that is split into two flats – A and B. I also own the freehold title which doesn’t have a mortgage, which I am looking to transfer into a company structure.
Flat B on the ground floor has a basement, which is not included in the leasehold title. I have planning permission to convert the basement into a room/studio flat.
My plan was to create a separate dwelling with its separate entrance from the outside. There is one basement in the street but without a separate entrance.
The issue is when I applied for the basement, I used Flat B for the application which gives the impression it would be part of Flat B which isn’t my intention.
I feel stuck as my plans for the basement seems to have stalled.
Help!!

Hi
May be worthwhile asking for pre-planning advice from the council’s planning department.
If you are able to obtain planning permission for a separate flat, you will have to register its Title at the Land Registry.
It is assumed the basement is not part of the demise of the flat above it.
