Local authority tells tenants not to leave the property?

Local authority tells tenants not to leave the property?

12:03 AM, 7th July 2023, 3 years ago 182

Hello, tenants were due to vacate the property this weekend. However, the tenants have told the management agency that they have been advised by the local authority to stay put as they are a couple with a young child.

Where do I stand on this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,

Sheila

    Example
We are owed 10 months rent so s8 applies on mandatory grounds
Tenant walks into court and made a false claim that we owed him money
Case was adjourned to allow for the tenant to submitt evidence
This was in Feb 23 no evidence has been presented to date.
Court date is set for September 23
7 months of BS and we have to keep the property within legislation while they freeload.
He’s now gone to Thailand for vacation!!!!!

How can they make a claim like that did you not have a rent statement? You usually have to submit this? Mine is 2 months severed both notices tenants just ignoring me and agent. I don’t really want tp go through all this stress.

That’s another 2 months wait plus court date be arranged realistically 6 months wait !!

Ie 16 months for possession being granted add 4 to 6 weeks for balif eviction as council advise to stay put till evicted!!

    Total joke of a system

We’re getting out of blt this year
Let the government and council pick up their own created mess.

More homelessness, more social housing issues more arrears to come.

It’s going to take 5 plus years to fix

Whats a 6% bond? I’m hanging my boots soon rent increase not worth the stress. All the govt had to do was a special hotline for LLs deal with arrears sub letting and rest of it could have made this simple.
