National Landlord Day, the major conference and exhibition from the Scottish Association of Landlords is now the largest landlord conference in the UK.
The 2012 event will be the fifth year for this popular event, bigger and better than ever and taking place at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh on 6 November 2012. Having been a sell out every year, our team is looking forward to welcoming over 400 people to National Landlord Day this year.
It’s an ideal opportunity for anyone involved in the private rented sector to hear from leading experts in the field, network with other landlords, and find out what’s new in Scottish letting in one enjoyable day. New Scottish Housing Minister, Margaret Burgess MSP will give a keynote speech and other presentations will cover all the essential information on everything from the new Scottish tenancy deposit schemes to tenant fees, the new Universal Credit, the Scottish Green Deal, and all other impending changes to Scottish housing legislation.
Our packed trade exhibition is home to 38 stands of companies showcasing their goods and services. Exhibition space has been sold out for some weeks but we can include company leaflets in our delegate bags for £150.
Feedback from private landlords and letting agents for previous years has been excellent, including those who travelled long distances to attend. There is a special deal with Scotrail giving 20% off pre-booked rail travel and there is onsite parking for those choosing to drive.
The conference team looks forward to hearing from anyone who’d like more information or to book for the event. Thanks to generous sponsors, there is a subsidised delegate fee this year of £45 for members and £95 for non members, recognising that budgets are tight for many. Fees include all refreshments throughout the day including a delicious buffet lunch and by popular request this year a new breakfast time with bacon rolls on arrival! Stay on in the evening for our optional Gala Dinner rounding off the day with good food, great company and entertainment.
With all the recent changes affecting landlords who own properties in Scotland and also the campaigns which have been run by Shelter affecting Scottish Letting Agents it’s hardly surprising to hear that membership of the Scottish Association of Landlords has witnessed a massive growth in membership. A spokesperson from the organisation said to me today “membership of the Association has grown by 25% in the last six months and we have every reason to believe this rate of growth will continue to accelerate over the next year or so as a result of new deposit protection rules and clamp downs on charging structures affecting both landlords and letting agents in Scotland”
