Hello, I have a tenant who has contacted a solicitor regarding the condition of the flat’s drainage problem, mould, damp and mice infestation.
I received a letter from her solicitor just after Christmas regarding the problems she says she has.
In the letter, they said they would be sending out a surveyor within five days to inspect the property.
I replied to the letter with my evidence and requested a joint inspection which was in the solicitor letter which I was entitled to do.
A couple weeks later, I received another letter looking for a settlement.
I spoke to the solicitor and asked about the joint inspection and did his surveyor go to the property.
He said the surveyor didn’t go the the property and he didn’t need to do so as he has enough evidence to go on.
The tenant has now left the property four months before the lease is up.
My question is: Does the solicitor have to show me the evidence they have?
Thank you,
Peter
