From my understanding (having read Carl Bayley's book and had some advice from him too), Steve's suggestion that a Ltd company selling a property that has increased in value will pay more tax than an individual is definitely wrong. If...
I went down the Ltd company route (more advantageous for me as a developer rather than investor). But through the research I did on ltd companies, it looked very complex to transfer properties from personal ownership to ltd companies. The...
I think this is normal practice - yes, it may be surplus now, but in 1 year's time the roof may need repairing, and the repair is down to wear and tear over the last 10 years perhaps. That is...
Hi Jonathan, Definitely some good ideas there for the future. I actually avoided Milton Keynes because I have family there and wanted to keep my first property very separate -and do it all myself (probably sounds a bit bizarre!) but...
Hi Sarah, Rather than add anything else on yields v capital where a lot of good advice has been given, a few thoughts from me on location which also seems to be a question for you. A few months ago...
Lou, Carl Bayley's book on property tax has a good and easily understood explanation of how this works. My understanding, as I looked into this, because I did a let to buy on my property when I moved house is...

Bianca, I can't offer any input or advice on legalities, but I want to tell you that you are being very strong and courageous. Suffering domestic violence is Something no woman should have to go through, especially with young chIldren....
