A new referencing tool specifically designed for student landlords aims to simplify the tenancy process for both agents and students.
Vouch’s student reference package includes essential checks like ID verification, eliminating unnecessary procedures like credit checks and salary verification that are typically required for salaried tenants.
The company says this reduction in checks not only saves time but also significantly reduces costs for agents.
Agents can further streamline the process by opting for a ‘bundle’ offering, which allows them to collect guarantor details alongside the student’s information.
This comprehensive approach ensures that all necessary information is gathered in one place, making the referencing process more efficient.
The firm’s managing director, Tom Goodman, said: “It’s essential that student references are handled thoroughly and compliantly, but no agent or landlord wants to be wasting time and money on checks that simply aren’t relevant to this cohort of tenants.
“We assessed the market and identified a huge gap for a tailored product that solves this issue.”
He added: “Our new, bespoke product allows student references to be handled smartly and efficiently.
“Likewise, because it’s delivered with a simple, tech-led approach, it also makes life easier for the digital-native generation of students.”
The custom-built system means agents and landlords aren’t paying for unnecessary checks and can handle all of student referencing with one simple interface.
With most students starting to commit to tenancies for the next academic year from November, this new offering is designed to help agents quickly capitalise on demand without increasing their workload.
Students engage with the purpose-built referencing tool via a ‘self-service’ interface.
Here, they can upload all the key information, IDs and guarantor details in one place, making it easy for them to submit and for agents to process.
Every day, landlords who want to influence policy and share real-world experience add their voice here. Your perspective helps keep the debate balanced.
