Cosmo Anayiotos Landlord and Founder of LetRent Loughborough LeicestershireI am a private landlord and Guest House owner. I foundedĀ LetRent for two reasons; 1) due to being frustrated with the cost and quality of rental property advertisements, and 2) because I am a Leukaemia survivor with a dedication to helping the organisations that saved my life.
Unfortunately I cannot raise funds through running marathons or climbing mountains, so I developed LetRent to constantly donate to these groups and meet my advertising needs as a landlord.
I was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) in May 2006 and spent seven months in The Leicester Royal Infirmary receiving four rounds of chemotherapy and almost lost my life. After a short spell of remission the leukaemia returned and my only hope was a bone marrow donor through Anthony Nolan.
Anthony Nolan could not find a match in the UK, but were able to use their global register to select the best possible match in Cyprus. The stem cells were harvested in Cyprus and flown over to the UK where I received my transplant on 12th September 2007.
Because of lifesaving medical research and the transplant I was given I has made a secure promise to give 10% of property listings fees to Anthony Nolan and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. This will be shared equally between the two organisations.
