Did you know that fines can be over £30,000 now for non-compliance? And that there are 168 new regulations that have been introduced in recent years?

Watch this live debate at the Property Investor Show in London a few weeks ago, which was hosted by Richard Jackson from Alphaletz, with Sean Hooker from the PRS, David Cox from Rightmove and James Kent from Safe2/NRLA on the panel as they discuss these important issues.

It was filmed in front of a live landlord audience who raised their concerns about everything from HMO licensing and liability insurance, to everyday compliance challenges that each of us are now having to deal with on a daily basis.

The PRS, Property Redress Scheme, is authorised by the government to provide impartial advice about property related issues and all letting agents have a legal responsibility to join. They also provide redress for landlords too. Sean talks about what he is seeing in the market and some of the horror stories which are becoming more common in todays changing landscape.

David Cox is the Legal and Compliance Director at Rightmove and is regular contact with councils and government bodies and is able to give his perspective on what he is seeing in the market too.

Alphaletz is a powerful and simple technology solution to help landlords manage their properties and keep track of everything from tenants and compliance to finances and document management, vital for every landlord in todays market.

Safe2 now part of the NRLA, offer the ability to order safety certificates through their technology product.

This is where Govt & Councils need to wake up.
£30,000 fine for a misdemeanour?
£350 fine for tenant not turning up to meet Licensing Inspection.
Who is that helping? Certainly making houses more illusive & rents more expensive for tenants.
