I think the articles reflect the mood and concerns of the landlords making up the PRS. Difficult times will lead to some negative stories. We shouldn't be sugarcoating things.
The stockmarket, especially the US market is way overvalued and is due a massive correction anyway.. buyer beware! I wrote this on 19 February 2025 in reply to a piece on the pound at that time. "Still time to buy...
Somebody has to pay anyway .Would a benevolent private landlord pay in your example? As a B2L landlord with several leasehold flats I can't wait to move away from the archaic system to commonhold and mirror what happens in most...
The truth is every major economy is more or less in the same boat, incl the USA and Japan! There are no clean shirts in the global currency basket.. gold price is showing this! Still time to buy precious metals...
Article you link to say gold outperformed S&P this year to date anyway, and that is when it was at '5,215'. You may have seen that it's now at circa 4700. I know where I prefer to keep some savings.....

Good to diversify and for me this includes BTL property and stocks. Never sure why people don't mention GOLD as a long term investment. Beats the stock market, even the crazy valuations of the S&P, since 2000. Sleep easier at...

He's one of the worst of the smarmy politicians. Sways with the wind, smiles and no action! I wouldn't trust a word he's saying. Why didn't he a least raise these concerns whilst in office? He did more harm than...
Indeed a thankless task, especially as solving the cladding/fire safety scandal facing hundreds of thousands of people has to be high on his priorities too (strange that it's not even mentioned above!)

Hello Richard, you seem to be in a similar boat to me on cladding/fire safety (on sh*t creek and with a very tiny paddle) and I'm glad you've raised the question. I don't have an answer sadly as I'm not...
When a conservative MP (Stephen McPartland) tweeted the following it sums the whole sorry mess up: “It is a betrayal of millions of leaseholders. It is not good enough. It is shocking incompetence." I think it might well become the...
