UK home buyers consider conveyancing process to be out of date
The legal conveyancing process undertaken as part of buying a home in the UK is often seen as too complicated and slow, according to a new survey.
42% of home owners questioned felt their experience of the process was too complicated and slow with only 4% considering the process to be quick.
Furthermore, 23% felt the conveyancing process needed to be modernised and brought up to date, reveals the YouGov poll.
22% said they relied on the guidance provided by a solicitor when receiving the environmental search reports in order to understand the risks and important findings in the information they received.
37% agreed that the home buying process would be improved if all environmental search information was provided online rather than through the post.
However, 26% felt that not enough information was provided to them by their solicitor as home buyers are becoming increasingly aware of environmental risks that could affect properties, following significant flooding and other land based risks.
22% of home owners said they want easy to read information that can be absorbed quickly.
