Linda and I have been myth-busting following a number of people contacting us to highlight our series on planning and permitted development had missed a recent update. Some social media posts had pointed to changes in industrial PD rights.

Unaware of any changes, Linda and I went on a fact-finding mission to discover the truth.

Had we really missed a recent permitted development change, or was this a case of false news?

Dear Ms Wright, I am planning to buy a property in South West area and property is in conservation zone. Ground floor is commercial and access to upper floor is through the cafe. A straight wall can be built from staircase to front door without changing any front elevation but really struggling to work whether this is allowed under PD rights. I would be outmost grateful if you kindly answer this.
