This seem to suggest that residential property will remain at the normal rates Does anyone know if this is the case as I have a sale going through right now. And I can easily delay it till next year and save myself 8%.... Read More

clause 24 affects you weather you are buying or not. just if you have a mortgage.

the SDT change only affects you if you buy, yes it's going to have an effect, but it's less damaging on the whole I think.... Read More

So if you don't make enough of a gain, then you are paying the extra no matter what.... Read More

Buy To Let mortgages could require a 50% deposit in the future

Karen, the huge risk is that many unaware landlords risk having huge tax bills because of Clause 24.

Hence they need to make sure that the rent covers the mortgage plus 20% for the tax.

Thank god that they thought about the stability of the BTL market before they went and added huge amounts of tax for having a buy to let.... Read More
