Generation Rent want open ended tenancies and Landlords to cover moving costs

I’ve been happy to rent for years, loved the flexibility and ease of quickly being able to move home to follow other opportunities elsewhere, especially if moves were due to unavoidable or unplanned circumstances. Going down the Drain?

Your esponsibility as a landlord is to provide the necessary drainge facility, the tenant then must use it in a tenant-like manner, ie responsibly. You are not responsible for what the tenants discharge there. If they have caused the problem then they have to sort it out and/or pay the bill. Take loads of photos and keep diary notes, copies of emails etc.... Read More

Ceiling Heating?

Yes I've got this in a flat. Heat rises so it's a very inefficient and expensive electrical heating system. I'd rather see the benefit of a warm floor (which you are giving to the flat above to some degree). I believe there is some sort of wire mesh very close to the ceiling surface which gives off the heat so any new fittings into the ceiling (eg screws for trunking) are likely to damage it and stop it working.
