I think you missed the bit where LLs will be paying the Ts Council Tax, and not allowed to pass it on:

Nottingham's new boss - Do you think I am worth listening to?


This FOI has just been put into Nottingham for details of their Selective Licencing cost model, used to calculate fee levels.

One was done 5 years ago for Hyndburn, which revealed that eg they budgeted 10 minutes for their staff to check an ownership in the Land Registry. There are a lot of things rounded up eg 5 minutes to open a computer file.

Back when Newham were trying to bring in their first round of licensing (2010 or so), they published data claiming that it took their staff half an hour (cost = £20 or so) to do such a check.

Let me check - does the Bill also apply to Social Landlords?
Concerning that he is listening to Olly Grender. If my memory serves me right, she sat on the Committee which acknowledged the 'unexplainable' rent rises in Scotland at the time fees were banned and raised the possibility of a link, then made a speech in the Lords denying any such thing.
