I will never let any of my properties to HB ever again. Not all the same but this particular lowlife family whom makes living out using the councils to get in to free accommodation on landlords expense tainted it for all. I was told that they used one local authorities to get 8 months free housing on landlords expense then gone register with the neigboring council to get another victim to defraud who is myself. The council whim introduced this filth to me not accepting any responsibility and left me to deal with it. They sit in their offices and enjoy their safe jobs paid by tax payers like myself. Shocking that these fraudsters are allowed to do this. No amount of ccj would matter to them. Their life motto is live on benefits and steal from people to finance their dirty lifestyles. The law allows them to do it. I served a section 8 notice. She paid no money since she moved in 2,5 months ago. I can apply to the court end of this month and was told she can stay up to 5 more months at my expense and keeping the hb in her pocket with all other benefits she gets. Plus I am expecting a damage property back if she is nice enough to let me know when she moves out if she moves out before the bailiffs.... Read More

Hi, thank you. I have contacted the council several times but they told me it’s a civil matter. I told them they were paying tax payers money to someone who is not using the benefit for its purpose which was a fraud. They said it’s not a fraud!!!! They could not care less about it. When I said so you are offering my taxes to her and also she enjoys a free ride at my expense at my property they said put your claim in writing. That said we are working 4 weeks behind . The amount of calls and e mails I spent my time on seems endless. I will put her details but I do not think she will find another private landlord as fool as me. She is using me to get her a permanent council owned property which I hope she won’t enjoy a happy life if there is any justice in this world.... Read More

Hello, why would he be responsible for bills while the property still is lawfully occupied by the tenant. He is not allowed to go in and left in a limbo. Until the possession taken place the bills should be tenants responsibility unless it says otherwise in the contract.... Read More

Terrible time with council tenant and shock at how law treats landlords

Hi Mike, I certainly agree. I wrote to my local MP and she is also serving as a minister no answer so far. No one will give us our rights we have to work hard, lobby and demand equal rights given to tenants. When you search for eviction, the net comes up with lots of warnings towards landlords and organisations offering help to tenants only. I have not seen any organisation warning the consequences of being a bad tenant which I believe none existent for someone who has no assets or credit history. Pages after pages offering help to bad tenant whom failed to pay rent endless suggestions how to keep our properties longer without abiding the terms of tenancy. Sickening.
I am puzzled to see the possibility of judges to offer up to 6 weeks to a tennant whom failed to pay rent and taken to the court for eviction or habit of paying less or making late payments if they claim, eviction will cause them inconvenience if they are sick or have a family. We all have families, bills and mortgages to pay while a bad tenant enjoys free accommodation at our expense. I can not turnaround and say I am sick, I have other bills to pay give me more time to the mortgage company.... Read More
