3% rent increase reasonable?

Possibly rent controls but they would be difficult to Police. Look at Ireland where S24 was reversed and even incentives put in place to entice landlords back into the market as a direct result of rental increases. If we don’t learn from history we may as well close the doors now.... Read More

3% rent increase reasonable?

In my opinion all Landlords should be increasing rents in excess of 3% to demonstrate to the government that if Landlords are going to be constantly penalised and abused it will have a knock on effect on tenants. If rents rise sufficiently the government may be forced to take action on policies like S24. They will listen to tenants complaints rather than a Landlord. I have raised my rents significantly since the introduction of S24 and sent information packs to all my tenants inviting them to visit their MP's and explaining that the rise is forced on me by the governments stance towards the PRS.... Thank you and yes I totally agree. The reason the boards have more text than a general drive by board was that the actual board itself was meant as a platform and focal point to be promoted through various other social and media tools. If their existence in each individual area can create dialogue and bring everyone to one focal point of information it may give us more power to make change through the strength of numbers in other campaigns whilst educating those unaware of the impending doom. Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated.... Read More

BILLBOARDS UPDATE "Just Giving" campaign raises over £4,000 in just a few days

Just a quick update to let everybody know that we have secured a great initial package at an inclusive cost per board that most companies charge just for print and posting! Showcaseoutdoor of Poole have agreed to post a package of 10 boards inclusive of printing and posting for £300.00 per board plus VAT. This is an amazing deal and I would like to thank Matt of Showcaseoutdoor for putting together such a great package to get the campaign started with a wide scoping area albeit mainly based in the South at this stage but we are hoping that this boost will maintain the momentum of the campaign and give us time to build funds and negotiate to advertise in more prime locations that obviously demand a higher rate. To name some of the sites the boards will be located, Poole, Bournmouth, Andover, Taunton, Coventry, Southampton and Eastleigh. Lets hope this start in the South heads as far North as we can go including all the major cities.... Read More
