Not eligible for self-employment grant because I also had property income!

Yep, I'm in the exact same position as you Judith. I'm afraid I can't find a solution either. My total income last month was £324 and I'll still have to fund maintenance and insurance payments etc. in the coming weeks and months.

In 'normal times' I'd be expected to sell my property to raise funds to live on before being able to claim UC or anything but with the eviction ban I can't get my property back to do that so am sort of stuck.

I feel for those who are having to live on £96 a week sick pay for instance but their situation is better than mine.

Fingers crossed that we don't see a second spike and more restrictions can be relaxed soon...... Read More

We want to help - Recovering deferred rent?

I'd be happy to help my tenants where it is needed but by giving a 3 month deferral of all or part of their rent I feel that I'd be offering a financial services service in addition to a home and shelter service.

As the government are underwriting 80% of loan losses to big financial institutions supporting covid stress I feel they should offer the same to landlords extending a line of credit to their tenants so we'd agree a repayment plan with them and if they defaulted on that then 80% of our losses would be covered by government.

We are all in this together...... Read More

Nottingham Council - Why do you refuse to work with Good Landlords?

I have a freehold house with no mortgage in the SL area. Despite paying for and submitting a copy of the title register from the Land Registry stating 'Lender(s): None' they still rejected my application for not including details of my lender.

This problem isn't just impacting leasehold properties!!... Read More
