Should we use Allotments?

There are as many as 4 million public parking spaces and around 7m private in the UK (RAC figures). At 11.5 sq m each, that's a potential 126m sq m of space, enough to build over 1.7m new homes (i.e. ~3x allotments).
Many questionable assumptions behind that I am well aware, but our priorities can be judged by which we seek to expand, and which repurpose.... Read More

Even more important is the type of fan: ignore those (most) that require people to behave in a particular way. Reliable Humidistat fans start at ~£25 on eBay. Do I need a new Hmo Licence if I add my spouse to title?

If you believe the economy is fair and the rich pay too much tax, you might want to ponder this (the principles apply to the UK and world): Read More

Liverpool keep issuing the licence to my bank?

Different bit of paperwork but same authority.
I owned a rental house some years ago and it was sold on in the aftermath of the crash, leaving overhanging and partly disputed Council Tax debts (partly my fault but also incompetent agent and absconding tenants... long story). I eventually came to an agreed settlement (in writing) and paid up.
Five years later they keep sending me letters demanding further payments in joint names - me and a chap I've never heard of. I guess he may be a subsequent owner. Despite repeated phone calls, emails and letters responding to these explaining that they settled with me, that I have had no connection with the property for years, and that I have literally no idea who this person is, nothing ever changes.
To get their attention, I'm wondering about returning their letters to sender without postage, glued to a house brick.
Does anyone have any insight into how to get this Council to take notice and stop badgering me?... Read More
