On Thursday the Bank of England, Monetary Policy Committee voted 7 to 2 to raise the base interest rate to 4.5%, which is the highest since 2008, and the 12th consecutive rise.
Anyone who is on a variable interest rate will receive another all too familiar letter over the next few weeks, to say that their monthly mortgage payment will be going up again next month.
So what does this mean for you and your property investing?
What will happen when the 1.3 million households in the UK come to the end of their fixed-rate mortgages this year?
How much further can interest rates go up?
