I love the way that councils seem to be able to act like mafia making up random licencing, fines etc on a whim. They are public servants. Landlords should start charging council admin fees for any hassle caused by them.
I want the government to control rent rises but I bet my tenants don't. Haven't raised my rents for years, but if the government get involved they would look at nearer market value.
I almost ended up with a new tenant with dogs. Fortunately I had to give him a lift to his current council rent. When I got there he invited me in for a cup of tea. They had taken the...
I looked at this last year. The rent is fixed for 7 years unless you really push them for a rise. All houses must be to HMO spec, fire doors, etc. If the boiler is above a certain age it...
If government and stupid tenant organisations were to stop persecuting landlords it would help. Allow landlords to rent as a business and get tax allowances given to other businesses then maybe more landlords would rent properties. It was obvious there...
Fingers crossed Nigel can get in one way or another. He won't sit back like some wet lettuce letting the UK be pushed around. We need to get more like Poland.
Countless landlords, hence the reason I am getting phone calls from Serco asking if I have any properties available or if I am looking to buy any more! And Labour are pushing this woman as the possible next UK prime...
Some people are never happy. ECP C compulsory - Bad news. EPC C cancelled (postponed) - Bad news. Pathetic attitude. I was improving the EPC of my properties before it became a eco fashion. I wouldn't rent out a house...
I carried out some work earlier this year. The tenant didn't want to move out as he had no where to go. The downstairs was a building site for two weeks. The tenant hated it, the builder hated it as...
Boo boo. Typical lack of thought and planning on the part of the UK government. Everyone blames Brexit for the state of the UK economy when in actual fact it is the fault of a government who couldn't organise the...
What happens if I don't have a mortgage do I just give the house to the tenant? Big Issue!! We have a Romanian woman in our town selling the Big Issue. She regularly goes to top her coffee up at...
I looked at leasing my property to Serco. They wanted lots of silly changes to the property which would have cost thousands, the rent they offered was way below market value and it was fixed for the 5 years.

Totally agree if you have a property that is not in a state that you would be happy to live in, why should you expect your tenants to.
