The Greater Manchester Combined Authority Mayoral Election newsletter arrived this morning. Of the 6 candidates in the running, very few look as though they have any relevant leadership or financial experience.
What took my attention was Andy Burnham's (Labour) commitment to introduce a Good Landlord Scheme across Greater Manchester and, provide tenants with a facility to get their rented properties 'checked' - maybe by their people who are failing to provide social housing?

I managed to get a CCJ against a rogue tenant almost 6 years ago. The CCJ only covered the outstanding rental she accumulated whilst awaiting the Bailiffs for 8 months.
The ruined unit and furniture theft was an added cost that I ignored. The total loss was about GBP20 000. The CCJ for unpaid rent demanded that she settle GBP11 900 within 7 days. I have not received a penny nor has she made any attempt to contact me to offer any settlement.

Tenant demand for rented homes in London grew by 9% last month, compared to February, according to Foxtons.
The lettings agent highlights that renter demand has fallen 14% year-on-year as the market returns to more typical trends.
